Soup with dumplings and potatoes and rice
Dumpling soup is a very simple dish. However, not everyone prepares it due to the atypicality of the recipe and lack of understanding of how to prepare dumpling soup. This dish will take your dinner to the next level, turning a meal into a full-fledged soup in no time.
So, how to cook dumpling soup? To prepare the soup, we will need:
water - 2 l;
potatoes - 2 large;
dumplings - 300 g;
carrot - 1 pc.;
onion - 1 pc.;
vegetable oil - 1 tbsp. L.;
butter - 50 g;
greens - a small bunch;
salt, pepper - to taste;
rice (optional) - 2-3 tbsp. l.
First, we prepare the ingredients - peel the potatoes and cut them into arbitrary cubes, grate the carrots, and chop the onions. To obtain vegetable broth, boil the potatoes until ready, do not forget to remove the foam. At this stage, we also add rice if we want to cook with it. At this time, we fry carrots and onions in vegetable oil - this will be our frying. When the potatoes are ready, add dumplings to the soup and cook until they float. We check them for readiness and add browning and butter to taste. Season with spices and sprinkle with finely chopped greens.
If desired, you can cook soup with dumplings without potatoes - just do not add them. This dish is very flexible, because only dumplings are a must here. For example, you can make soup with dumplings and an egg. To do this, we boil them, cut them into cubes and add them to the soup along with frying.
