A recipe for potatoes in pots with pork or ribs

 



Potted potatoes are a great dish for those who want to enjoy a juicy and flavorful combined dinner. Delight yourself with variety and taste by choosing your recipe.


Ingredients for 4 pots:


400 g of pork ribs or pork;

300 g of fresh mushrooms (champignons, button mushrooms or others of your choice);

8 medium potatoes;

1 bulb;

1 carrot;

2 cloves of garlic;

100 ml of chicken or vegetable broth (or just water);

6 tablespoons of vegetable oil;

Salt and pepper to taste, bay leaf;

Fresh herbs (parsley or dill) for decoration.


Step-by-step recipe:


Prepare pork ribs or pork by cutting them into portions. Salt and pepper to taste.

Wash the mushrooms, clean around the legs and cut into thin slices.

Peel the potatoes and cut them into cubes or slices.

Finely chop the onion, grate the carrot on a coarse grater.

Heat the vegetable oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Add the pork ribs and fry until golden brown on all sides.

Saute onions and carrots, stirring occasionally, for 5-7 minutes.

Fry the potatoes in a small amount of oil, add salt in the process.

Lightly fry the mushrooms in a pan with almost no oil, 2-3 minutes.

Life hack: fry meat and potatoes in two pans at the same time to cut the preparation time in half.

Put the potatoes, then the ribs, mushrooms and the roast on the bottom of the pot.

Add one bay leaf, 1/2 cloves of garlic, peppercorns, one peppercorn each to the pots.

Pour in hot chicken or vegetable broth, or simply pour boiling water over.

Close the pots with lids and put them in an oven heated to 200 degrees. If you put the pots on a rack, place a baking sheet under it.

Simmer for 1 hour.

Potted potatoes with mushrooms and meat are ready. Serve hot, sprinkled with fresh herbs.


If you prefer poultry to meat, replace the pork with chicken fillet or use 4 chicken thighs. Cooking such a dish as potatoes with chicken in pots, follow the same step-by-step recipe with the only difference - before frying the thighs, remove the skin from them.


Moreover, potatoes in pots with chicken will not lose anything if mushrooms are excluded from the list of ingredients.
